The effect of ‘EI’ on levels of litigation

Many foreign jurisdictions switched to EI systems decades ago. Statistical evidence on the results is sparse, and typically anecdotal. However, and in general, what is a major preoccupation here (where an entire industry can hardly cope) appears to be a problem-solved over there.

 Newly-arrived figures - set out below - align with these indications.

Logic suggests that a clearer indication of what the courts are likely to order (and why) was always likely to diminish the pressure on parents to make applications to court in pursuit of their desire to find out what courts will order.

This is now confirmed by the first statistical information.

Court applications in Israel fell by 33% to 50%.
